Narrative:
Upon completion of shutdown checklist, gear door open light came on. Mechanics found landing gear door uplock bolt, roller, nut and safety wire missing. Where it fell off who knows. Could have caused engine failure/damage or dropped on a house. Never happened before. Deregulation maintenance/economics sure works great.

Title: ACFT EQUIP PROB -- ACR CREW DISCOVER THAT A MAIN GEAR DOOR UPLOCK MECHANISM IS MISSING AFTER ARR AT THE GATE.
Narrative: UPON COMPLETION OF SHUTDOWN CHKLIST, GEAR DOOR OPEN LIGHT CAME ON. MECHS FOUND LNDG GEAR DOOR UPLOCK BOLT, ROLLER, NUT AND SAFETY WIRE MISSING. WHERE IT FELL OFF WHO KNOWS. COULD HAVE CAUSED ENG FAILURE/DAMAGE OR DROPPED ON A HOUSE. NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. DEREGULATION MAINT/ECONOMICS SURE WORKS GREAT.
