Narrative:

We were in the climb out of tpa to bos, ZJX cleared us for further climb to FL280. I read back FL280, the first officer placed FL280 in the altimeter reminder, and I confirmed FL280 was set in window. As we were climbing out of FL230, the ZJX controller told us to stop climb at FL230 and turn right 30 degrees, he said we were only cleared to FL220. I said we copied FL280. No further comment was made. Our so confirmed that he also had heard the clearance to climb to FL280.
