Narrative:

Flight crew arrived at gate XX30 am and found uncorrected maintenance logbook entry. Called company and received teletype message to defer and clear uncorrected entry. Upon landing at slc, maintenance indicated teletype message failed to accurately defer logbook entry. Flight and ground operational safety was at no time compromised. 'A' pumps were turned off during pushback (normal procedure) because the entry said 'a' pumps pressurized with nosewheel steering pin installed during start.
