Narrative:

Our flight from cid-ord pushed from the gate at XA25 local. ATC then notified us of a wheels up time of XA45. We started engines at XA38 and taxied to runway 27. While parked in holding pad for runway 27, we were cleared to taxi into position and hold on runway 27. Seconds after the captain advanced throttles, the #2 engine fire warning light illuminated. The engine was shut down and the first extinguisher bottle was discharged. Tower was notified to send fire trucks. Tower said no smoke or fire was observed. After 30 seconds, the fire handle was still illuminated, so the second fire bottle was discharged. Captain asked flight attendant if she could see fire or smoke from #2 engine and she said no. #2 fire handle remained illuminated, and a cabin evacuate/evacuation was ordered. Evacuate/evacuation was orderly and without injury. Fireman told us they could see no visible damage to the #2 engine. Supplemental information from acn 314477: the first officer and myself secured the aircraft, after a quick run through the cabin to make sure everyone was out I was the last person to exit the aircraft. Doors 1L and 2L were used. Door 1L operated properly. Door 2L slide had to be manually inflated. There were no major injuries. A few people had minor slide burns. At this time visual inspection of the engine cowling area by the fire crew, was not clear if we actually had a fire or not.
