Narrative:
I mistook the left traffic for the right traffic. So, I had crossed below the long final approach course to go to the opposite side of the runway. I always flew to the north of the airport before and used left traffic for runway 6R. This time I was south of the airport. When the tower told me to enter downwind, right traffic for runway 6R, it slipped right by me since I had made up my mind already.
