Narrative:

While flying west above I-8, an mu-2, flying eastbound on I-8, almost collided with me. The sun was low on the horizon making visibility west low. About 5 seconds prior to the imminent impact, myf tower said 'break! Metropolitan traffic 1, collision alert, traffic 12 O'clock, same altitude eastbound!' had it not been for this warning, collision was inevitable. I believe the mu-2 was in a climbing pitch attitude and couldn't see me. Thank god for good controllers!
