Narrative:

We taxied from the cargo ramp requesting runway 18R. We were instructed to taxi via taxiway Z to hold short of runway 27 on taxiway north. Upon reaching runway 27 ground control cleared us across. Unfortunately, unknown to us, an air carrier A300 had been cleared for takeoff. We crossed runway 27 at taxiway north as he, apparently, began his takeoff roll. We asked ground to confirm we had been cleared to cross and he acknowledged the fact. Obviously there was a mix-up between ground and the tower. Stop bars, as they have in europe and our larger airports, with a matching status board in the tower, would help prevent communication problems such as this. Supplemental information from acn 310486: upon reaching the runway, mem ground cleared us to taxi across the runway and to continue to taxi to runway 18R. While we were taxiing across, I noticed an airbus A300-600 which appeared to be departing on runway 27. We were cleared of the runway well before the airbus reached its rotational speed. Then we proceeded to inquire of mem ground about this situation. Mem ground did confirm that indeed we were cleared to taxi across runway 9/27 and attributed the departure of the airbus to poor coordination on their part between ground and tower.

Title: ATCT INTRAFAC COORD. ONE ACR WAS CLRED TO CROSS A RWY WHILE ANOTHER ACR WAS BEGINNING ITS TKOF ROLL.

Narrative: WE TAXIED FROM THE CARGO RAMP REQUESTING RWY 18R. WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO TAXI VIA TXWY Z TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 27 ON TXWY N. UPON REACHING RWY 27 GND CTL CLRED US ACROSS. UNFORTUNATELY, UNKNOWN TO US, AN ACR A300 HAD BEEN CLRED FOR TKOF. WE CROSSED RWY 27 AT TXWY N AS HE, APPARENTLY, BEGAN HIS TKOF ROLL. WE ASKED GND TO CONFIRM WE HAD BEEN CLRED TO CROSS AND HE ACKNOWLEDGED THE FACT. OBVIOUSLY THERE WAS A MIX-UP BTWN GND AND THE TWR. STOP BARS, AS THEY HAVE IN EUROPE AND OUR LARGER ARPTS, WITH A MATCHING STATUS BOARD IN THE TWR, WOULD HELP PREVENT COM PROBS SUCH AS THIS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 310486: UPON REACHING THE RWY, MEM GND CLRED US TO TAXI ACROSS THE RWY AND TO CONTINUE TO TAXI TO RWY 18R. WHILE WE WERE TAXIING ACROSS, I NOTICED AN AIRBUS A300-600 WHICH APPEARED TO BE DEPARTING ON RWY 27. WE WERE CLRED OF THE RWY WELL BEFORE THE AIRBUS REACHED ITS ROTATIONAL SPD. THEN WE PROCEEDED TO INQUIRE OF MEM GND ABOUT THIS SIT. MEM GND DID CONFIRM THAT INDEED WE WERE CLRED TO TAXI ACROSS RWY 9/27 AND ATTRIBUTED THE DEP OF THE AIRBUS TO POOR COORD ON THEIR PART BTWN GND AND TWR.
