Narrative:

On approach runway 25 with GS and localizer capture, airspeed 150 KTS, hit very heavy rain with strong gusts. Airspeed jumped to 170 KTS. Approach said maintain 8000 ft, then turn left 180 degrees. During turn and go around, reconfiguring, flight guidance, altitude went to 8500 ft. Descended to 8000 ft for another approach. Just a bad time and place for a go around.
