Narrative:

I was overflying las en route to 67L, nv, for gas. The engine stopped running. I let las departure know of my problem as I went through the emergency checklist. The engine would not restart. I told them I was returning to vgt to land. After re- evaluating the situation, I decided I did not have enough altitude to make it, so I requested and landed at nellis AFB with no accident or incident. On the ground, the electric fuel pump would not operate. I am having an a&P check both fuel pumps. I should have had 1 hour fuel left, about 10 gallons. ARTCC did a great job with me. Need to include checking electric fuel pump before starting engine so you can hear it run. Need more realistic performance data (cruise, fuel burn, etc).
