Narrative:

There are 3 ground control frequencys depicted for dtw with markings on the communication chart page indicating which frequency is to be used at different airport locations. We turned off the active runway 3L onto runway 27 and were told by tower to contact ground. We tried the indicated frequency, no luck. After several attempts, we switched to another listed frequency and got our taxi clearance. We were out of contact with ATC for about 2 mins, just clear of an active runway, parked on another runway. It seems that dtw should use the ground control frequencys in a more logical fashion. Confusion about who to call and when can lead to runway incursions and degradation of safety.

Title: FLC OF AN MLG LOST MOMENTARY COM WITH TWR AFTER LNDG DUE TO USING THE WRONG GND FREQ.

Narrative: THERE ARE 3 GND CTL FREQS DEPICTED FOR DTW WITH MARKINGS ON THE COM CHART PAGE INDICATING WHICH FREQ IS TO BE USED AT DIFFERENT ARPT LOCATIONS. WE TURNED OFF THE ACTIVE RWY 3L ONTO RWY 27 AND WERE TOLD BY TWR TO CONTACT GND. WE TRIED THE INDICATED FREQ, NO LUCK. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, WE SWITCHED TO ANOTHER LISTED FREQ AND GOT OUR TAXI CLRNC. WE WERE OUT OF CONTACT WITH ATC FOR ABOUT 2 MINS, JUST CLR OF AN ACTIVE RWY, PARKED ON ANOTHER RWY. IT SEEMS THAT DTW SHOULD USE THE GND CTL FREQS IN A MORE LOGICAL FASHION. CONFUSION ABOUT WHO TO CALL AND WHEN CAN LEAD TO RWY INCURSIONS AND DEGRADATION OF SAFETY.
