Narrative:

Introductory flight started out of stintson (ssf) toward downtown san antonio and sat class C airspace. A handoff was arranged by ssf control tower to sat approach control. After switching to approach frequency, sat approach would not respond to my radio calls. (I tried about 3 times.) a 180 degree turn back to ssf was then completed with every attempt to remain clear of sat class C airspace and to maintain proper obstruction clearance. I then switched back to ssf tower and made radio contact with ssf with no problem. Landing at ssf was made without incident and without any communications problems.
