Narrative:

During touch and go practice, our aircraft was cleared for touch and go to runway 22. After tower clearance, tower instructed our aircraft to make a left 360 degree turn for traffic spacing. As we were in this turn, we noticed another aircraft approaching on a straight-in on runway 22. We aborted the circle to avoid this aircraft. At no time did we hear this aircraft cleared to land. The tower reprimanded this other aircraft for inattention to radio tower xmissions and landing without clearance. It was busy in the traffic pattern that day.
