Narrative:

After receiving clearance to land, somewhere prior to touchdown, communications with den tower were lost. (As was reported to us after block in.) we were vectored for a visual approach behind a B-737. As PF, I was concentrating on slowing the aircraft since the B-737 was somewhat slower than us, and on the landing (this was the first time in dia for both the captain and myself). I did not notice the frequency go quiet after landing clearance was received. Upon clearing the runway at taxiway F we contacted ground and were cleared to our gate. While taxiing the controller told us that tower tried to contact us on short final due to traffic. We replied that we never heard the call. After block-in we were advised to contact tower via land-line. The tower controller told us that she had tried to contact us to exit the runway at an earlier turnoff and since we didn't the aircraft behind us had to go around. Even if we had received the radio call we could not have exited the runway any sooner without applying excessive braking. In addition, the previous arrival was blocking the high speed exit prior to the one we used. The cause of the problem was probably either intermittent radios or the captain may have inadvertently switched to ground frequency prior to touchdown.

Title: ACR HAS LOSS OF COM ON FINAL APCH.

Narrative: AFTER RECEIVING CLRNC TO LAND, SOMEWHERE PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN, COMS WITH DEN TWR WERE LOST. (AS WAS RPTED TO US AFTER BLOCK IN.) WE WERE VECTORED FOR A VISUAL APCH BEHIND A B-737. I DID NOT NOTICE THE FREQ GO QUIET AFTER LNDG CLRNC WAS RECEIVED. UPON CLRING THE RWY AT TXWY F WE CONTACTED GND AND WERE CLRED TO OUR GATE. WHILE TAXIING THE CTLR TOLD US THAT TWR TRIED TO CONTACT US ON SHORT FINAL DUE TO TFC. WE REPLIED THAT WE NEVER HEARD THE CALL. AFTER BLOCK-IN WE WERE ADVISED TO CONTACT TWR VIA LAND-LINE. THE TWR CTLR TOLD US THAT SHE HAD TRIED TO CONTACT US TO EXIT THE RWY AT AN EARLIER TURNOFF AND SINCE WE DIDN'T THE ACFT BEHIND US HAD TO GAR. EVEN IF WE HAD RECEIVED THE RADIO CALL WE COULD NOT HAVE EXITED THE RWY ANY SOONER WITHOUT APPLYING EXCESSIVE BRAKING. IN ADDITION, THE PREVIOUS ARR WAS BLOCKING THE HIGH SPD EXIT PRIOR TO THE ONE WE USED. THE CAUSE OF THE PROB WAS PROBABLY EITHER INTERMITTENT RADIOS OR THE CAPT MAY HAVE INADVERTENTLY SWITCHED TO GND FREQ PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN.
