Narrative:

I was a first officer on a part 135 cargo flight. The manager of our freight client insisted upon traveling aboard the aircraft. Efforts were made to discourage him from taking this flight because of the lack of an approved seat. Eventually the captain relented and the client was accepted aboard the aircraft. As a result, the usual courier on the flight was forced to use unapproved seating although oxygen and a seat strap were available. I was not consulted nor did I have any input into the decision.
