Narrative:

En route from msy to gso. Approximately 60 miles from gso we picked up the arrival (brook 1) into gso and were cleared to cross the initial fix at 20000 ft. We had a 70 KT tailwind and I missed the crossing restr by approximately 1 mi. The outbound from the fix was 035 degree. I misread the radial to read 055 degree as the sun was blinding me on my right side. Consequently, I strayed off course approximately 3 mi before the controller asked if we were intercepting the 035 degree radial. I immediately intercepted the 035 degree radial to continue the arrival. This took place at approximately XA15 am. Visibility was 50 mi.

Title: ALTDEV ALT XING RESTR - DEV FROM CLRNC RTE - THE FLC WAS TOO HIGH AT THE STAR ENTRY POINT AND THEN TURNED TO THE WRONG OUTBOUND RADIAL.

Narrative: ENRTE FROM MSY TO GSO. APPROX 60 MILES FROM GSO WE PICKED UP THE ARR (BROOK 1) INTO GSO AND WERE CLRED TO CROSS THE INITIAL FIX AT 20000 FT. WE HAD A 70 KT TAILWIND AND I MISSED THE XING RESTR BY APPROX 1 MI. THE OUTBOUND FROM THE FIX WAS 035 DEG. I MISREAD THE RADIAL TO READ 055 DEG AS THE SUN WAS BLINDING ME ON MY R SIDE. CONSEQUENTLY, I STRAYED OFF COURSE APPROX 3 MI BEFORE THE CTLR ASKED IF WE WERE INTERCEPTING THE 035 DEG RADIAL. I IMMEDIATELY INTERCEPTED THE 035 DEG RADIAL TO CONTINUE THE ARR. THIS TOOK PLACE AT APPROX XA15 AM. VISIBILITY WAS 50 MI.
