Narrative:
When coming over to reno approach we were given a turn to 340 degrees after the mustang VOR, but I did not hear the 'after the mustang VOR,' and turned to 340 degrees. After a comment about being farther east than normal, we asked approach to clarify and were given the heading to 310 degrees. Thinking back, this is not the first time I have been confused over these instructions.

Narrative: WHEN COMING OVER TO RENO APCH WE WERE GIVEN A TURN TO 340 DEGS AFTER THE MUSTANG VOR, BUT I DID NOT HEAR THE 'AFTER THE MUSTANG VOR,' AND TURNED TO 340 DEGS. AFTER A COMMENT ABOUT BEING FARTHER E THAN NORMAL, WE ASKED APCH TO CLARIFY AND WERE GIVEN THE HDG TO 310 DEGS. THINKING BACK, THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE BEEN CONFUSED OVER THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
