Narrative:

Ground control cleared us to taxi from gate to runway 29L, the opposite side of the airport. When we arrived at runway 29L we got cleared to taxi all the way back to runway 29R back past our gate to the runway. On the taxi back, we requested to use runway 22. The ground control told us to hold short of runway 22 at east. Upon reaching east, the ground controller told us to back taxi on runway 22 to position and hold. The captain proceeded to back taxi on runway 22 - as we approached the hold short line we cleared the area to the left and right and when I looked right, a c- 130 was on short final for runway 29R. As I saw this, the ground controller said 'do a 180 degree and hold short of runway 29R.' the captain thought he meant to do a 180 degree turn and hold short after back taxiing the entire length of runway 22. When the captain proceeded across runway 29R hold short line, I said 'stop' and applied the brakes to stop. We made a 180 degrees there and crossed the hold short line. There was not a close call - we only crossed the hold short line by 10 ft and cleared before the C-130 passed us. A combination of talking to the ground controller on the runway (should have been tower) - non standard phraseology and a captain that was upset because of the long taxi time.

Title: MISUNDERSTOOD COM WITH GND CTL AND ACFT ALMOST ENCROACHED ON ACTIVE RWY WHEN OTHER ACFT WAS LNDG.

Narrative: GND CTL CLRED US TO TAXI FROM GATE TO RWY 29L, THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ARPT. WHEN WE ARRIVED AT RWY 29L WE GOT CLRED TO TAXI ALL THE WAY BACK TO RWY 29R BACK PAST OUR GATE TO THE RWY. ON THE TAXI BACK, WE REQUESTED TO USE RWY 22. THE GND CTL TOLD US TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 22 AT E. UPON REACHING E, THE GND CTLR TOLD US TO BACK TAXI ON RWY 22 TO POS AND HOLD. THE CAPT PROCEEDED TO BACK TAXI ON RWY 22 - AS WE APCHED THE HOLD SHORT LINE WE CLRED THE AREA TO THE L AND R AND WHEN I LOOKED R, A C- 130 WAS ON SHORT FINAL FOR RWY 29R. AS I SAW THIS, THE GND CTLR SAID 'DO A 180 DEG AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 29R.' THE CAPT THOUGHT HE MEANT TO DO A 180 DEG TURN AND HOLD SHORT AFTER BACK TAXIING THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF RWY 22. WHEN THE CAPT PROCEEDED ACROSS RWY 29R HOLD SHORT LINE, I SAID 'STOP' AND APPLIED THE BRAKES TO STOP. WE MADE A 180 DEGS THERE AND CROSSED THE HOLD SHORT LINE. THERE WAS NOT A CLOSE CALL - WE ONLY CROSSED THE HOLD SHORT LINE BY 10 FT AND CLRED BEFORE THE C-130 PASSED US. A COMBINATION OF TALKING TO THE GND CTLR ON THE RWY (SHOULD HAVE BEEN TWR) - NON STANDARD PHRASEOLOGY AND A CAPT THAT WAS UPSET BECAUSE OF THE LONG TAXI TIME.
