Narrative:

While on a day VFR flight from a single north/south runway uncontrolled airport, I was PIC. I had gotten AWOS and the wind had shifted to favor a runway 18 departure. A small single engine land aircraft was taxiing up the parallel taxiway for a runway 18 departure. I held short of the taxiway. He said on unicom that he would hold and let us out of the ramp. I went on to taxiway (idle power) as not to damage light aircraft. Ready for departure, first officer was handling communications as we both cleared approach and departure paths. All normal broadcast were made and taxied onto the runway as last items on 'line-up' checklist were complete. Another light single aircraft was landing to the north. I said to the first officer I will go to the left of the runway and if need be, onto the grass because the first light single had pulled up to the hold bar and I was running out of time and options. The next taxiway was quite a distance up the runway. The problem was that we use communication #2 as primary and when we landed approximately 45 mins earlier first officer was on communication #1 on the audio panel and I was communication #2 with radar. First officer panel did not get switched to communication #2 for departure. Conclusion, a second light aircraft made mid- field turn off. First light aircraft held at hold bar and we did not have to go onto grass. Both myself and first officer will make sure we stay on the same radio and same page.

Title: CORPORATE ACFT TAKES POS AND HOLD ON NON TWR ARPT RWY. TFC LNDG, OPPOSITE DIRECTION.

Narrative: WHILE ON A DAY VFR FLT FROM A SINGLE N/S RWY UNCTLED ARPT, I WAS PIC. I HAD GOTTEN AWOS AND THE WIND HAD SHIFTED TO FAVOR A RWY 18 DEP. A SMALL SINGLE ENG LAND ACFT WAS TAXIING UP THE PARALLEL TXWY FOR A RWY 18 DEP. I HELD SHORT OF THE TXWY. HE SAID ON UNICOM THAT HE WOULD HOLD AND LET US OUT OF THE RAMP. I WENT ON TO TXWY (IDLE PWR) AS NOT TO DAMAGE LIGHT ACFT. READY FOR DEP, FO WAS HANDLING COMS AS WE BOTH CLRED APCH AND DEP PATHS. ALL NORMAL BROADCAST WERE MADE AND TAXIED ONTO THE RWY AS LAST ITEMS ON 'LINE-UP' CHKLIST WERE COMPLETE. ANOTHER LIGHT SINGLE ACFT WAS LNDG TO THE N. I SAID TO THE FO I WILL GO TO THE L OF THE RWY AND IF NEED BE, ONTO THE GRASS BECAUSE THE FIRST LIGHT SINGLE HAD PULLED UP TO THE HOLD BAR AND I WAS RUNNING OUT OF TIME AND OPTIONS. THE NEXT TXWY WAS QUITE A DISTANCE UP THE RWY. THE PROB WAS THAT WE USE COM #2 AS PRIMARY AND WHEN WE LANDED APPROX 45 MINS EARLIER FO WAS ON COM #1 ON THE AUDIO PANEL AND I WAS COM #2 WITH RADAR. FO PANEL DID NOT GET SWITCHED TO COM #2 FOR DEP. CONCLUSION, A SECOND LIGHT ACFT MADE MID- FIELD TURN OFF. FIRST LIGHT ACFT HELD AT HOLD BAR AND WE DID NOT HAVE TO GO ONTO GRASS. BOTH MYSELF AND FO WILL MAKE SURE WE STAY ON THE SAME RADIO AND SAME PAGE.
