Narrative:

In-flight at cruise the R1 window had a possible short circuit with accompanying smoke, fume, and 'pop' most similar to a small fire cracker. Captain (PF) and first officer (PNF) ran the smoke/fire abnormal checklist. We declared an emergency and descent landing to bna visual runway 13. Smoke/fire vented through the airconditioning system and did not continue. Communication with oxygen masks on was a problem. Must communicate with both pilots, cabin crew, and ATC. Each group requires a change of interphone panel/procedure. I think this is weakest area. Just is not any easy way to set up, but must just slow down and prioritize.
