Narrative:

After landing on runway 28L with no difficulty, I turned left onto runway 23 to taxi back to the flight school with ground clearance. I leaned the mixture for taxi and the engine quit. I kept the plane rolling as far as I could and ended up at the end of the displaced threshold. After attempting a restart with no success, ground asked if I needed the truck to tow me back to the school which I declined because I thought I could restart the plane. After repeated attempts without success, I pushed the plane back to the flight school after checking to see if no one was going to be moving the opposite way on the taxiway. It was a short distance to the school. Looking back on this event, I should have allowed the airport maintenance truck to come and tow me back, however I was unsure of what action would happen if I did this.

Title: UNORTHODOX TAXI PROC.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG ON RWY 28L WITH NO DIFFICULTY, I TURNED L ONTO RWY 23 TO TAXI BACK TO THE FLT SCHOOL WITH GND CLRNC. I LEANED THE MIXTURE FOR TAXI AND THE ENG QUIT. I KEPT THE PLANE ROLLING AS FAR AS I COULD AND ENDED UP AT THE END OF THE DISPLACED THRESHOLD. AFTER ATTEMPTING A RESTART WITH NO SUCCESS, GND ASKED IF I NEEDED THE TRUCK TO TOW ME BACK TO THE SCHOOL WHICH I DECLINED BECAUSE I THOUGHT I COULD RESTART THE PLANE. AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS WITHOUT SUCCESS, I PUSHED THE PLANE BACK TO THE FLT SCHOOL AFTER CHKING TO SEE IF NO ONE WAS GOING TO BE MOVING THE OPPOSITE WAY ON THE TXWY. IT WAS A SHORT DISTANCE TO THE SCHOOL. LOOKING BACK ON THIS EVENT, I SHOULD HAVE ALLOWED THE ARPT MAINT TRUCK TO COME AND TOW ME BACK, HOWEVER I WAS UNSURE OF WHAT ACTION WOULD HAPPEN IF I DID THIS.
