Narrative:

About 15 DME, approach asked if we had runway in sight? Captain confirmed runway in sight. We were cleared for visual to runway 19L maintain 3000 ft until 8 DME. I selected approach and land to follow the localizer inbound. At the same time approach called traffic at 1 O'clock and 11 O'clock landing on runway 19R and runway 19L ahead of us. FMS captured localizer and GS. At 9 DME we realized our altitude excursion at which time it was too late to correct and proceeded to ILS runway 19L for normal landing. Altitude excursion was caused by intense approach traffic and clouds on final approach.
