Narrative:

Lax-phx-slc B737. Aircraft had MEL item, leading edge slat inoperative, MEL. 27-00-oyc. Which is speed restr. Maintenance advisory that the item was fixed and a normal flight plan issued. Upon arrival at destination, maintenance returned item to aircraft, saying item never was fixed. Dispatcher was never notified that item never was cleared. Flight crew stated that they knew item was still in logbook and complied with MEL speed restr. Dispatcher never advised by maintenance on flight crew.

Title: FAR -- DISPATCH RELEASE IN ERROR.

Narrative: LAX-PHX-SLC B737. ACFT HAD MEL ITEM, LEADING EDGE SLAT INOP, MEL. 27-00-OYC. WHICH IS SPD RESTR. MAINT ADVISORY THAT THE ITEM WAS FIXED AND A NORMAL FLT PLAN ISSUED. UPON ARR AT DEST, MAINT RETURNED ITEM TO ACFT, SAYING ITEM NEVER WAS FIXED. DISPATCHER WAS NEVER NOTIFIED THAT ITEM NEVER WAS CLRED. FLC STATED THAT THEY KNEW ITEM WAS STILL IN LOGBOOK AND COMPLIED WITH MEL SPD RESTR. DISPATCHER NEVER ADVISED BY MAINT ON FLC.
