Narrative:
After 4 plus hours of flight -- I was circling position on ground 10 NM east of purdue airport. In bank to left for 15-20 seconds when engine started to miss. Locked for landing spot ahead and put it down in bean field. Looked in tanks left empty -- right 10 gallons. Put 5 gallons in left tank and flew to purdue, home base. Will check fuel tank venting and function of fuel selector -- which was on both tanks.
