Narrative:
I was taxiing on the ground at charlotte douglass international and passed my taxiway and then stopped at the hold line for an active runway. I was told what I did and then cleared to cross the active runway to the FBO. I proceeded onto the runway and did not see a taxiway straight ahead due to a ridge in the land so I taxied 50 ft on the runway and took the next turnoff as fast as I could. I was advised to call the tower, we spoke and I said I realized what I did and would study up on the diagram, and he said thank you - there should be no problem.
