Narrative:
Taxi clearance was received: taxi to runway 3C, via pappa, cleared to cross runway 3R. Upon reaching runway 3R, we noticed a small aircraft lined up to land on runway 3R. We stopped the aircraft short of runway 3R, but the nose was past the hold line. Immediately, after that, the ground controller said, 'company call, stop,' (XXX is our call sign), we had already done so. The small aircraft landed without incident. When I questioned the controller as to our clearance he said an error had been made and he was sorry.

Title: ACR CREW RECEIVED A TAXI CLRNC TO CROSS AN ACTIVE RWY WHILE SMA ACFT ON SHORT FINAL.
Narrative: TAXI CLRNC WAS RECEIVED: TAXI TO RWY 3C, VIA PAPPA, CLRED TO CROSS RWY 3R. UPON REACHING RWY 3R, WE NOTICED A SMALL ACFT LINED UP TO LAND ON RWY 3R. WE STOPPED THE ACFT SHORT OF RWY 3R, BUT THE NOSE WAS PAST THE HOLD LINE. IMMEDIATELY, AFTER THAT, THE GND CTLR SAID, 'COMPANY CALL, STOP,' (XXX IS OUR CALL SIGN), WE HAD ALREADY DONE SO. THE SMALL ACFT LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. WHEN I QUESTIONED THE CTLR AS TO OUR CLRNC HE SAID AN ERROR HAD BEEN MADE AND HE WAS SORRY.
