Narrative:

The event occurred while practicing lndgs with a student in byron airport, the runway in use was runway 30. During the takeoff phase, we realized the presence of a large group of skydivers in the upwind and right crosswind legs of the right traffic pattern. Divers were also in the left crosswind but in considerably smaller number. The wind was from a westerly direction (left crosswind) and my reaction was to initiate a sharp left turn making directly a tight left downwind to avoid the conflict, even knowing that the traffic pattern was right handed and that the drop zone is supposedly west of runway 30. My major error was to continue the touch and go practice event after having heard, while on final, the 'jump in progress' warning on the CTAF. That was induced by poor knowledge of skydiving procedures/timing, by wrong knowledge of the actual position of the drop zone, (thought much farther from the airport), and by the observation of other traffic taking off immediately before me. Major contributing factor was the improper position of the jumpers on the drop zone, actually invading the traffic pattern.

Title: PARACHUTE JUMPING ACTIVITY.

Narrative: THE EVENT OCCURRED WHILE PRACTICING LNDGS WITH A STUDENT IN BYRON ARPT, THE RWY IN USE WAS RWY 30. DURING THE TKOF PHASE, WE REALIZED THE PRESENCE OF A LARGE GROUP OF SKYDIVERS IN THE UPWIND AND R XWIND LEGS OF THE R TFC PATTERN. DIVERS WERE ALSO IN THE L XWIND BUT IN CONSIDERABLY SMALLER NUMBER. THE WIND WAS FROM A WESTERLY DIRECTION (L XWIND) AND MY REACTION WAS TO INITIATE A SHARP L TURN MAKING DIRECTLY A TIGHT L DOWNWIND TO AVOID THE CONFLICT, EVEN KNOWING THAT THE TFC PATTERN WAS R HANDED AND THAT THE DROP ZONE IS SUPPOSEDLY W OF RWY 30. MY MAJOR ERROR WAS TO CONTINUE THE TOUCH AND GO PRACTICE EVENT AFTER HAVING HEARD, WHILE ON FINAL, THE 'JUMP IN PROGRESS' WARNING ON THE CTAF. THAT WAS INDUCED BY POOR KNOWLEDGE OF SKYDIVING PROCS/TIMING, BY WRONG KNOWLEDGE OF THE ACTUAL POS OF THE DROP ZONE, (THOUGHT MUCH FARTHER FROM THE ARPT), AND BY THE OBSERVATION OF OTHER TFC TAKING OFF IMMEDIATELY BEFORE ME. MAJOR CONTRIBUTING FACTOR WAS THE IMPROPER POS OF THE JUMPERS ON THE DROP ZONE, ACTUALLY INVADING THE TFC PATTERN.
