Narrative:

Far part 121 requires an alternate airport to be listed on the flight dispatch release when required by the '1-2-3' rule. I checked the hourly sa report and forecast but did not notice ETA plus 1 hour would put us into the next forecast period, which was forecasting an 800 ft ceiling (altitude required). My dispatcher and myself overlooked this and I took off without the information and had to call en route to have the release amended.

Narrative: FAR PART 121 REQUIRES AN ALTERNATE ARPT TO BE LISTED ON THE FLT DISPATCH RELEASE WHEN REQUIRED BY THE '1-2-3' RULE. I CHKED THE HRLY SA RPT AND FORECAST BUT DID NOT NOTICE ETA PLUS 1 HR WOULD PUT US INTO THE NEXT FORECAST PERIOD, WHICH WAS FORECASTING AN 800 FT CEILING (ALT REQUIRED). MY DISPATCHER AND MYSELF OVERLOOKED THIS AND I TOOK OFF WITHOUT THE INFO AND HAD TO CALL ENRTE TO HAVE THE RELEASE AMENDED.
