Narrative:

On a VFR flight from over lakefront airport to a water strip 1 mi south of navy calendar, I inadvertently flew through moisant's class B airspace at 2500 ft MSL while talking to navy tower on frequency 123.8. Navy advised that new orleans had inquired about the fly through. I then realized that while over flying lakefront airport, at 2600 ft (all the while coming with lakefront tower) to stay clear of landing traffic, I neglected to drop below 2000 ft. The class B airspace, directly in my path, even though I was talking to navy tower. The solution would be to drop down sooner or to cross lakefront at possibly 1800 ft, or to call moisant approach further out.

Title: PLT OF AN SMA SEL INADVERTENTLY FLEW THROUGH CLASS B AIRSPACE WITHOUT CLRNC.

Narrative: ON A VFR FLT FROM OVER LAKEFRONT ARPT TO A WATER STRIP 1 MI S OF NAVY CALENDAR, I INADVERTENTLY FLEW THROUGH MOISANT'S CLASS B AIRSPACE AT 2500 FT MSL WHILE TALKING TO NAVY TWR ON FREQ 123.8. NAVY ADVISED THAT NEW ORLEANS HAD INQUIRED ABOUT THE FLY THROUGH. I THEN REALIZED THAT WHILE OVER FLYING LAKEFRONT ARPT, AT 2600 FT (ALL THE WHILE COMING WITH LAKEFRONT TWR) TO STAY CLR OF LNDG TFC, I NEGLECTED TO DROP BELOW 2000 FT. THE CLASS B AIRSPACE, DIRECTLY IN MY PATH, EVEN THOUGH I WAS TALKING TO NAVY TWR. THE SOLUTION WOULD BE TO DROP DOWN SOONER OR TO CROSS LAKEFRONT AT POSSIBLY 1800 FT, OR TO CALL MOISANT APCH FURTHER OUT.
