Narrative:

Noticed a burning smell which seemed to be electrical in nature/ wire insulation burning, etc. About 30 seconds later we started seeing smoke in the cockpit, white/grey in color, and which seemed to originate in the cockpit. The rate which the smoke accumulated was significant. An emergency was declared requesting radar vectors to either 2ONTARIO or orange county airport. We dumped the cabin, pulled the vent, and initiated donning the oxygen masks. Non-essential electrical components and switches were turned off. We got vectored to ontario airport, landing about 3 min after the first symptoms were noticed. The smoke disappeared when dumping the cabin and did not reappear, nor did the burning smell. Taxiing in and shutdown were uneventful with no lingering or recurring symptoms.
