Narrative:

New company procedure is an expanded departure briefing to include: 1) altitude, heading, and first fix (departure SID). 2) takeoff power to be used. (Any derates or assumed temperatures). 3) the 10-7 page of commercial charts (procedure for engine failure on takeoff/go around). 4) any unusual conditions (contaminated runway, windshear, etc). All these things were briefed by the PF before takeoff. The PNF mistakenly thought the 10-7 page brief (195 degree heading after takeoff) was the SID. The SID was runway heading off of runway 24 at bdl. After takeoff, the PF questioned the 195 degree heading turn by saying 'I didn't get that' the PNF said 195 degree heading. The departure control asked our heading we said 195 degree, he said turn right to 240 degrees.
