Narrative:

I am newly checked out in the aircraft. I have only limited, recent, experience at ord (ie, 3 legs) at ord. We were given 'runway 32L at taxiway 10, taxiway a, black 3 to taxiway 10.' concentrating on taxiing and trying to find the txwys, I missed the turn that taxiway T makes. I saw a taxiway 10 sign but it was not the sign that I needed to see. First officer was reading checklist and trying to decipher the coded route. I suddenly realized that we were on runway 32L, but upstream of taxiway 10, when I saw an aircraft takeoff. Tower then cleared me for takeoff from taxiway 10. I took off. Either the tower controller didn't know that I was not at taxiway 10 or maybe he was being generous. I probably should have studied the coded route more carefully, and indeed will do so in the future.

Title: UNAUTH RWY ENTRY.

Narrative: I AM NEWLY CHKED OUT IN THE ACFT. I HAVE ONLY LIMITED, RECENT, EXPERIENCE AT ORD (IE, 3 LEGS) AT ORD. WE WERE GIVEN 'RWY 32L AT TXWY 10, TXWY A, BLACK 3 TO TXWY 10.' CONCENTRATING ON TAXIING AND TRYING TO FIND THE TXWYS, I MISSED THE TURN THAT TXWY T MAKES. I SAW A TXWY 10 SIGN BUT IT WAS NOT THE SIGN THAT I NEEDED TO SEE. FO WAS READING CHKLIST AND TRYING TO DECIPHER THE CODED RTE. I SUDDENLY REALIZED THAT WE WERE ON RWY 32L, BUT UPSTREAM OF TXWY 10, WHEN I SAW AN ACFT TKOF. TWR THEN CLRED ME FOR TKOF FROM TXWY 10. I TOOK OFF. EITHER THE TWR CTLR DIDN'T KNOW THAT I WAS NOT AT TXWY 10 OR MAYBE HE WAS BEING GENEROUS. I PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE STUDIED THE CODED RTE MORE CAREFULLY, AND INDEED WILL DO SO IN THE FUTURE.
