Narrative:

I was receiving flight instruction toward my commercial ticket. This was my first flight in this make and model (c- 172RG). The winds were strong and gusting. Miu TRSA had reported gusts up to 26 mph earlier. I had trouble with the first touch-and-go because of the winds. So the instructor took the controls to demonstrate a proper pattern (close) and landing. He had some difficulty with his landing because of the wind. I made the next takeoff and was flying a pattern like the instructor demonstrated, but with difficulty due to the winds. I flew the approach tight and hot and at 50 ft on final, I pulled the power off (the gear horn didn't sound) and landed with the gear retracted and skidded down the runway until the aircraft came to rest. Factors: the wind was too turbulent for training. Also, it caused me to become focused on my approach instead of procedure. If it had not been a training flight, normally I would have flown a wide pattern and long final, so I wouldn't be busy the entire approach. The gear horn which worked earlier, didn't on that landing.

Title: PVT PLT, TRAINING FOR HIS COMMERCIAL, WITH AN INSTRUCTOR, THE FIRST TIME IN A RETRACTABLE GEAR ACFT, LANDED GEAR UP!

Narrative: I WAS RECEIVING FLT INSTRUCTION TOWARD MY COMMERCIAL TICKET. THIS WAS MY FIRST FLT IN THIS MAKE AND MODEL (C- 172RG). THE WINDS WERE STRONG AND GUSTING. MIU TRSA HAD RPTED GUSTS UP TO 26 MPH EARLIER. I HAD TROUBLE WITH THE FIRST TOUCH-AND-GO BECAUSE OF THE WINDS. SO THE INSTRUCTOR TOOK THE CTLS TO DEMONSTRATE A PROPER PATTERN (CLOSE) AND LNDG. HE HAD SOME DIFFICULTY WITH HIS LNDG BECAUSE OF THE WIND. I MADE THE NEXT TKOF AND WAS FLYING A PATTERN LIKE THE INSTRUCTOR DEMONSTRATED, BUT WITH DIFFICULTY DUE TO THE WINDS. I FLEW THE APCH TIGHT AND HOT AND AT 50 FT ON FINAL, I PULLED THE PWR OFF (THE GEAR HORN DIDN'T SOUND) AND LANDED WITH THE GEAR RETRACTED AND SKIDDED DOWN THE RWY UNTIL THE ACFT CAME TO REST. FACTORS: THE WIND WAS TOO TURBULENT FOR TRAINING. ALSO, IT CAUSED ME TO BECOME FOCUSED ON MY APCH INSTEAD OF PROC. IF IT HAD NOT BEEN A TRAINING FLT, NORMALLY I WOULD HAVE FLOWN A WIDE PATTERN AND LONG FINAL, SO I WOULDN'T BE BUSY THE ENTIRE APCH. THE GEAR HORN WHICH WORKED EARLIER, DIDN'T ON THAT LNDG.
