Narrative:

The aircraft (fokker F-28) arrived in spokane with a pilot report that captain's windshield wiper wouldn't park down and out of view. Not realizing the aircraft was category 2 certified, I reclocked the wiper and cleared the write-up. The wiper operationally checked good. I should have downgraded the aircraft to category 1 because I was not category 2 check certified. The aircraft was released and departed spokane en route to seattle when I realized my mistake. Maintenance control was notified immediately, and the aircraft was downgraded to category 1 when it reached seattle. I am fully aware of my mistake and have since made myself fully aware of all category 2 components, and which aircraft are currently operating in category 2 confign. Has also posted a reminder for all to read and initial involving this subject. I do not take this matter lightly and am fully aware of the seriousness of it.
