Narrative:

On a ferry flight from M39 to cvg at FL230 in clear air, the left engine quit. The electronic engine control went to manual from takeoff (normal position). All engine instruments indicated a flameout condition. The engine was secured using the precautionary engine shutdown procedure. WX at intermediate airports was below or at minimums. We continued to cvg and landed with no further problems.

Title: DURING A FERRY FLT, 1 ENG ELECTRONIC CTL UNIT MALFUNCTIONED RESULTING IN THE FLC MAKING A PRECAUTIONARY ENG SHUTDOWN.

Narrative: ON A FERRY FLT FROM M39 TO CVG AT FL230 IN CLR AIR, THE L ENG QUIT. THE ELECTRONIC ENG CTL WENT TO MANUAL FROM TKOF (NORMAL POS). ALL ENG INSTS INDICATED A FLAMEOUT CONDITION. THE ENG WAS SECURED USING THE PRECAUTIONARY ENG SHUTDOWN PROC. WX AT INTERMEDIATE ARPTS WAS BELOW OR AT MINIMUMS. WE CONTINUED TO CVG AND LANDED WITH NO FURTHER PROBS.
