Narrative:

We were cleared by ATC to taxi into position and hold. We misunderstood the clearance and proceeded with the takeoff roll. ATC then told us to stop and abort, we were not cleared for takeoff. We then aborted with no further incident. The reason I misunderstood is because we were an intersection departure with another airplane lined up behind us.

Title: SMT COMMUTER CLRED POS AND HOLD BEGINS TKOF ROLL. TKOF ABORTED.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED BY ATC TO TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD. WE MISUNDERSTOOD THE CLRNC AND PROCEEDED WITH THE TKOF ROLL. ATC THEN TOLD US TO STOP AND ABORT, WE WERE NOT CLRED FOR TKOF. WE THEN ABORTED WITH NO FURTHER INCIDENT. THE REASON I MISUNDERSTOOD IS BECAUSE WE WERE AN INTXN DEP WITH ANOTHER AIRPLANE LINED UP BEHIND US.
