Narrative:

I was flying a cardinal rg on a practice NDB approach to marysville (I78), with safety pilot in right seat, monitoring unicom (122.8). While flying 'outbound,' starting procedure turn, another aircraft came on radio to state he had 'nearly hit me' and that I should monitor 120.5 (cmh approach control) I never saw the other aircraft. I was operating on the assumption that any other aircraft on the approach would have been released by approach to the unicom and the other aircraft would be announcing their intentions -- as I had been doing.

Title: NMAC IN AN NDB APCH.

Narrative: I WAS FLYING A CARDINAL RG ON A PRACTICE NDB APCH TO MARYSVILLE (I78), WITH SAFETY PLT IN R SEAT, MONITORING UNICOM (122.8). WHILE FLYING 'OUTBOUND,' STARTING PROC TURN, ANOTHER ACFT CAME ON RADIO TO STATE HE HAD 'NEARLY HIT ME' AND THAT I SHOULD MONITOR 120.5 (CMH APCH CTL) I NEVER SAW THE OTHER ACFT. I WAS OPERATING ON THE ASSUMPTION THAT ANY OTHER ACFT ON THE APCH WOULD HAVE BEEN RELEASED BY APCH TO THE UNICOM AND THE OTHER ACFT WOULD BE ANNOUNCING THEIR INTENTIONS -- AS I HAD BEEN DOING.
