Narrative:

Ord to msy. Ord tower told air carrier X to go into position and hold, after clearing a boeing 757 to takeoff on the same runway 22L. 65 seconds after the 757 was cleared to takeoff the tower cleared us to takeoff. The first officer started to run power up and the captain held braugs and told the first officer to tell tower we need '1 more min on runway,' the tower asked why? The first officer replied 'because of the 757,' 'wake turbulence.' the tower advised us to clear the runway at the next reverse highspd to the right. The captain took control of the aircraft and began to move forward to clear the runway as directed. The tower advised 'please expedite clearing and also added 'we have to know before you take the runway of a 2 min spacing requirement behind a 757, if you don't want to accept our radar separation. 1) the captain made a decision immediately after it was obvious the tower was giving us decreased takeoff separation or not increased separation behind a 757. 2) tower expressed a need to know or a requirement to know more spacing is required behind a 757 before taking the runway. 3) tower punished our flight by asking us to 'clear the runway' for asking for safe separation. 4) request ATC be more sensitive to separation needs behind a 757 from other, smaller aircraft types.

Title: ACR X REFUSED TKOF CLRNC AND REQUIRED MORE WAKE TURB SEPARATION BEHIND A TKOF B757.

Narrative: ORD TO MSY. ORD TWR TOLD ACR X TO GO INTO POS AND HOLD, AFTER CLRING A BOEING 757 TO TKOF ON THE SAME RWY 22L. 65 SECONDS AFTER THE 757 WAS CLRED TO TKOF THE TWR CLRED US TO TKOF. THE FO STARTED TO RUN PWR UP AND THE CAPT HELD BRAUGS AND TOLD THE FO TO TELL TWR WE NEED '1 MORE MIN ON RWY,' THE TWR ASKED WHY? THE FO REPLIED 'BECAUSE OF THE 757,' 'WAKE TURB.' THE TWR ADVISED US TO CLR THE RWY AT THE NEXT REVERSE HIGHSPD TO THE R. THE CAPT TOOK CTL OF THE ACFT AND BEGAN TO MOVE FORWARD TO CLR THE RWY AS DIRECTED. THE TWR ADVISED 'PLEASE EXPEDITE CLRING AND ALSO ADDED 'WE HAVE TO KNOW BEFORE YOU TAKE THE RWY OF A 2 MIN SPACING REQUIREMENT BEHIND A 757, IF YOU DON'T WANT TO ACCEPT OUR RADAR SEPARATION. 1) THE CAPT MADE A DECISION IMMEDIATELY AFTER IT WAS OBVIOUS THE TWR WAS GIVING US DECREASED TKOF SEPARATION OR NOT INCREASED SEPARATION BEHIND A 757. 2) TWR EXPRESSED A NEED TO KNOW OR A REQUIREMENT TO KNOW MORE SPACING IS REQUIRED BEHIND A 757 BEFORE TAKING THE RWY. 3) TWR PUNISHED OUR FLT BY ASKING US TO 'CLR THE RWY' FOR ASKING FOR SAFE SEPARATION. 4) REQUEST ATC BE MORE SENSITIVE TO SEPARATION NEEDS BEHIND A 757 FROM OTHER, SMALLER ACFT TYPES.
