Narrative:

During landing phase of flight, aircraft was blown off runway 22 of sch by gusty xwinds. Gust occurred just prior to touchdown of nosewheel after main gear was down. Could not keep aircraft on runway. It went off runway to the left, rolled on the grass, stopped in 3 ft weeds parallel to runway 22. No injuries. Plane suffered minor bending damage to left flap, enough to declare aircraft 'grounded.' contributing factors: winds reported as 310 at 10 gusting 20 (as of 1000 local). Pilot failed to maintain situational awareness (of xwinds) after the touchdown. Pilot had relatively low time in aircraft. Pilot got behind the aircraft just prior to touchdown of all wheels. Corrective actions: pilot needs crosswind landing practice -- proficiency.

Title: RWY EXCURSION. ACFT DAMAGED.

Narrative: DURING LNDG PHASE OF FLT, ACFT WAS BLOWN OFF RWY 22 OF SCH BY GUSTY XWINDS. GUST OCCURRED JUST PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN OF NOSEWHEEL AFTER MAIN GEAR WAS DOWN. COULD NOT KEEP ACFT ON RWY. IT WENT OFF RWY TO THE L, ROLLED ON THE GRASS, STOPPED IN 3 FT WEEDS PARALLEL TO RWY 22. NO INJURIES. PLANE SUFFERED MINOR BENDING DAMAGE TO L FLAP, ENOUGH TO DECLARE ACFT 'GNDED.' CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: WINDS RPTED AS 310 AT 10 GUSTING 20 (AS OF 1000 LCL). PLT FAILED TO MAINTAIN SITUATIONAL AWARENESS (OF XWINDS) AFTER THE TOUCHDOWN. PLT HAD RELATIVELY LOW TIME IN ACFT. PLT GOT BEHIND THE ACFT JUST PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN OF ALL WHEELS. CORRECTIVE ACTIONS: PLT NEEDS XWIND LNDG PRACTICE -- PROFICIENCY.
