Narrative:

I flew out of chambersburg airport with approximately 45 min of fuel on board. I performed some practice maneuvers on my way to hagerstown, md, airport. On my approach to landing my engine sputtered as if it was going to quit. The tower was informed that I was a student pilot and was low on fuel. My engine came back to life and then quit again. At that time I informed the tower that I was running out of fuel and requested an emergency landing. I safely landed without any further incident. I proceeded to fuel up and then took 1 hour to get myself under control. 1) should not have practiced any maneuvers during my flight to fuel up. 2) should and will keep better track of my time in the air.

Title: STUDENT PLT DEPARTED WITH WHAT HE THOUGHT WAS 'APPROX' 45 MIN FUEL FOR A DEST 17 MI AWAY. HE DECIDED TO DO SOME PRACTICE MANEUVERS ENRTE AND ENDURED INTERMITTENT ENG FAILURE, NOTIFIED TWR HE HAD TO MAKE AN 'EMER LNDG.'

Narrative: I FLEW OUT OF CHAMBERSBURG ARPT WITH APPROX 45 MIN OF FUEL ON BOARD. I PERFORMED SOME PRACTICE MANEUVERS ON MY WAY TO HAGERSTOWN, MD, ARPT. ON MY APCH TO LNDG MY ENG SPUTTERED AS IF IT WAS GOING TO QUIT. THE TWR WAS INFORMED THAT I WAS A STUDENT PLT AND WAS LOW ON FUEL. MY ENG CAME BACK TO LIFE AND THEN QUIT AGAIN. AT THAT TIME I INFORMED THE TWR THAT I WAS RUNNING OUT OF FUEL AND REQUESTED AN EMER LNDG. I SAFELY LANDED WITHOUT ANY FURTHER INCIDENT. I PROCEEDED TO FUEL UP AND THEN TOOK 1 HR TO GET MYSELF UNDER CTL. 1) SHOULD NOT HAVE PRACTICED ANY MANEUVERS DURING MY FLT TO FUEL UP. 2) SHOULD AND WILL KEEP BETTER TRACK OF MY TIME IN THE AIR.
