Narrative:

I was flying north on the right side of the hudson river in new york city. A helicopter was also flying in my vicinity. The problem arose and was discovered when I realized that our paths would be crossing dangerously close. My corrective action was making a right turn to avoid flying into the helicopter's flight path. This may have caused me to fly into lga's class B airspace without the necessary air traffic control communications. I am not sure I did because I have been unable to contact the proper authorities at lga's ATC. It was my perception that our paths were going to come too close to each other. The major factor affecting my performance in the situation was my vast inexperience. I am a low time pilot who has flown only 5 times in the past yr. I did not realize that lga's airspace was so close and that the floor was so low, otherwise I would never have made that turn.

Title: SMA ENTERS CLASS B AIRSPACE WITHOUT CLRNC WHEN TAKING EVASIVE ACTION TO AVOID HELI ALONG HUDSON RIVER.

Narrative: I WAS FLYING N ON THE R SIDE OF THE HUDSON RIVER IN NEW YORK CITY. A HELI WAS ALSO FLYING IN MY VICINITY. THE PROB AROSE AND WAS DISCOVERED WHEN I REALIZED THAT OUR PATHS WOULD BE XING DANGEROUSLY CLOSE. MY CORRECTIVE ACTION WAS MAKING A R TURN TO AVOID FLYING INTO THE HELI'S FLT PATH. THIS MAY HAVE CAUSED ME TO FLY INTO LGA'S CLASS B AIRSPACE WITHOUT THE NECESSARY AIR TFC CTL COMS. I AM NOT SURE I DID BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO CONTACT THE PROPER AUTHORITIES AT LGA'S ATC. IT WAS MY PERCEPTION THAT OUR PATHS WERE GOING TO COME TOO CLOSE TO EACH OTHER. THE MAJOR FACTOR AFFECTING MY PERFORMANCE IN THE SIT WAS MY VAST INEXPERIENCE.
