Narrative:

Arrived at the aircraft 30 mins before departure, which is normal. Did not have the predep clearance (pre departure clearance). ATIS was giving runway 13 for departure. I, as PF, briefed runway 13 with white stone climb. 3 mins before departure the gate agent arrived with the pre departure clearance. I looked at it but did not notice we were cleared runway 13 with maspeth climb. As we were turning out ATC (lga departure) asked what climb we were doing. We replied, 'the white stone climb.' ATC advised us we were supposed to be flying the maspeth climb. We (I) should not have briefed the departure without having the clearance. I should have double checked the clearance with what we had talked about.

Narrative: ARRIVED AT THE ACFT 30 MINS BEFORE DEP, WHICH IS NORMAL. DID NOT HAVE THE PREDEP CLRNC (PDC). ATIS WAS GIVING RWY 13 FOR DEP. I, AS PF, BRIEFED RWY 13 WITH WHITE STONE CLB. 3 MINS BEFORE DEP THE GATE AGENT ARRIVED WITH THE PDC. I LOOKED AT IT BUT DID NOT NOTICE WE WERE CLRED RWY 13 WITH MASPETH CLB. AS WE WERE TURNING OUT ATC (LGA DEP) ASKED WHAT CLB WE WERE DOING. WE REPLIED, 'THE WHITE STONE CLB.' ATC ADVISED US WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE FLYING THE MASPETH CLB. WE (I) SHOULD NOT HAVE BRIEFED THE DEP WITHOUT HAVING THE CLRNC. I SHOULD HAVE DOUBLE CHKED THE CLRNC WITH WHAT WE HAD TALKED ABOUT.
