Narrative:

Summary of reporter's narrative: reporter states that certain ground personnel at the msp station are lackadaisical in their attitude toward directing aircraft to the gate and sometimes move the jetway passenger loader toward the aircraft while the aircraft is still moving toward the gate. He explained in detail how the signal person was not using, or facing correctly, proper hand signals in directing him to parking. In addition, the jetway movement was a great distraction in his peripheral vision. He went on to say that the signal person almost got in a fight with him in the aircraft while the passenger were deplaning. He was a very unhappy B-747 captain. Marshaller advised captain that a ground person was almost run over because the aircraft did not stop when directed by him!
