Narrative:

On takeoff roll at 75 KTS received ECAM message of hydraulic reserve yellow system low. We aborted at 80 KTS without incident. Told tower no assistance required. Found low level in yellow system on hydraulic page and in tank at gate. Resvced and returned to service. Corrective actions: have mechanic do better preflight the night before! Supplemental information from acn 278715: this is a fly by wire aircraft -- can fly without electrics but must have 1 of 3 hydraulic system for control surfaces. I noted in aircraft logbook that I had a daily line check done by maintenance. Hydraulic reservoir showed empty and ECAM message of press low. Not required to check hydraulic quantities during preflight or taxi, takeoff, etc. This is something I should check during preflight and after engine start.
