Narrative:

Citation C525 on final runway 34 visual approach descending. Traffic was given at 6 mi, 2 mi and less than a mi (a VFR sbound at 5800 ft MSL). The citation pilot saw the traffic at less than a mi descending through 6000 ft. The problem arose from a VFR aircraft flying out a final approach course not talking to ATC. Corrective actions: change class D surface area to class C!
