Narrative:

IFR flight from bli-oak. Clearance to descend to cross 10 NM northeast sau VOR at 7000 ft. At approximately 9500 ft, first officer reported a target on TCASII minus 500 ft at 300 ft. I received 2 messages at the same time. ATC requested 'expedite descent' and TCASII responded 'traffic, traffic' followed by an RA 'climb, climb.' I responded to the RA and climbed to about 9900 ft, and asked first officer to advise ATC we had an RA and were climbing. As soon as we advised ATC, we received a TCASII 'clear of conflict' message. We advised ATC that we were clear of conflict, and ATC requested 'expedite descent.' we complied with the ATC request. Neither the first officer nor I saw traffic. I had little time to see traffic as I was following the RA command, while first officer looked for traffic and advised ATC. We were not given any TA from ATC as they were very busy. TCASII saved the day.
