Narrative:

Flight was on the cresco 3 arrival into las. With las approach at 11000 ft at approximately XA20Z, las advised traffic at 12 O'clock, 10500 ft, unconfirmed, 5 mi. At 4 mi, traffic appeared on TCASII-4 yellow (400 ft below our altitude) at 12 O'clock. Then still at 12 O'clock, touching our inner circle on TCASII, the advisory changed to red and -03 (300 ft below) then -02 with my immediate concern for a collision and ATC advising traffic still at my 12 O'clock, I turned right 90 degrees. At this turn, the RA advised climb (green in 2000 FPM up) which I also initiated. I looked just left of my 12 O'clock and I saw traffic, now finally turned to his right and the advisory went out. We advised ATC of TCASII and RA and our course of action. We gained only a few hundred ft before recognizing the traffic and resumed the arrival. The traffic was a low wing aircraft.
