'Ok, your leg, let's go.' I completed the checklist and the captain advanced the power levers, while my hand was on the bottom of the levers. Just about 70 KTS I looked to the left, saw a J-31 on landing roll coming at us on a crossing runway. I instantly pulled the power levers back, stepped on the brakes and then had time to say 'abort.' then ATC said stop takeoff roll. The captain finished slowing the aircraft as we exited the runway. In my mind I feel 3 things led to this: 1) discussing the recent air carrier crash before takeoff. 2) the flight attendant saying 'ready for takeoff north the middle of our checklist. 3) the fact that I did the takeoff PA at the last moment. I will in the future make sure 1 checklist is totally complete before starting another. And I am very glad that I caught 'our' mistake before there was an accident or ATC had to say stop. This was no doubt a learning experience. Supplemental information from acn 276247: we were cleared to taxi past ATC delayed aircraft waiting for takeoff on runway 18L. Operations were being conducted on the intersecting runway 5 also. We were cleared into position and hold. For some unexplained reason, I began the takeoff roll. There was an aircraft landing on runway 5 which, had we continued the takeoff, may have become a conflict.

Title: TKOF STARTED, THEN ABORTED, WITHOUT CLRNC.

Narrative: 'OK, YOUR LEG, LET'S GO.' I COMPLETED THE CHKLIST AND THE CAPT ADVANCED THE PWR LEVERS, WHILE MY HAND WAS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE LEVERS.
