Narrative:

As power was applied for takeoff a loud whistle developed from first officer window. I aborted the takeoff (speed was less than 60 KTS) and cleared the runway. I had the copilot unlock and open his window and then reclose and lock his window and a second takeoff was uneventful. A logbook write-up was made. Discussion: the windows north the B-757 and B-767 series require at least 3 checks to be sure they are closed and locked. The trouble usually occurs when the window is somewhere in between. I think a procedure that requires the windows not be left in an intermediate position (ie, closed but not locked, locked but not closed, locked and closed but the crank not fully forward) would be helpful.

I THINK A PROC THAT REQUIRES THE WINDOWS NOT BE LEFT IN AN INTERMEDIATE POS (IE, CLOSED BUT NOT LOCKED, LOCKED BUT NOT CLOSED, LOCKED AND CLOSED BUT THE CRANK NOT FULLY FORWARD) WOULD BE HELPFUL.
