Narrative:

I was cleared to land and told to exit on the first turnoff due to landing traffic behind me (a bae 146 commercial air carrier). I was trying so hard to make the turn, that I turned too fast and the plane ground looped (a tail dragger) off the side of the runway and almost into a runway light. The engine stalled so we got out -- no injuries to plane or people. The landing traffic was forced to do a go around from a 1/4 mi final. The problem was that I was trying so hard to comply with ATC that I stopped flying the airplane. (A tail dragger isn't done flying until it is completely stopped.) as PIC it is my sole responsibility to decide if ATC's instructions can be safely complied with. In this case I gave away that authority/authorized to ATC because of the traffic behind me. From now on I intend to use the phrase 'unable' whenever I am not able to safely comply with ATC. Although this incident did not cause any injuries or property damage, and there really wasn't a safety problem, this was a huge learning experience for me. I'm glad this lesson was so cheap!

Title: PVT PLT GND LOOPED CONVENTIONAL TAIL WHEEL SMA SEL DURING LNDG ROLLOUT DUE HURRYING TO EXPEDITE CLRING RWY FOR OTHER TFC.

Narrative: I WAS CLRED TO LAND AND TOLD TO EXIT ON THE FIRST TURNOFF DUE TO LNDG TFC BEHIND ME (A BAE 146 COMMERCIAL ACR). I WAS TRYING SO HARD TO MAKE THE TURN, THAT I TURNED TOO FAST AND THE PLANE GND LOOPED (A TAIL DRAGGER) OFF THE SIDE OF THE RWY AND ALMOST INTO A RWY LIGHT. THE ENG STALLED SO WE GOT OUT -- NO INJURIES TO PLANE OR PEOPLE. THE LNDG TFC WAS FORCED TO DO A GAR FROM A 1/4 MI FINAL. THE PROB WAS THAT I WAS TRYING SO HARD TO COMPLY WITH ATC THAT I STOPPED FLYING THE AIRPLANE. (A TAIL DRAGGER ISN'T DONE FLYING UNTIL IT IS COMPLETELY STOPPED.) AS PIC IT IS MY SOLE RESPONSIBILITY TO DECIDE IF ATC'S INSTRUCTIONS CAN BE SAFELY COMPLIED WITH. IN THIS CASE I GAVE AWAY THAT AUTH TO ATC BECAUSE OF THE TFC BEHIND ME. FROM NOW ON I INTEND TO USE THE PHRASE 'UNABLE' WHENEVER I AM NOT ABLE TO SAFELY COMPLY WITH ATC. ALTHOUGH THIS INCIDENT DID NOT CAUSE ANY INJURIES OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, AND THERE REALLY WASN'T A SAFETY PROB, THIS WAS A HUGE LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR ME. I'M GLAD THIS LESSON WAS SO CHEAP!
