Narrative:
Air carrier X, a B-727, was vectored for a north bay visual approach to runway 17L. Small aircraft Y VFR operating 4 north of airport reported the B-727 in sight and requested a left 360. Controller approved the request. The B-727 pilot later advised that had it not been for a TCASII RA he would have hit the cessna. The aircraft passed 300 ft.

Narrative: ACR X, A B-727, WAS VECTORED FOR A N BAY VISUAL APCH TO RWY 17L. SMA Y VFR OPERATING 4 N OF ARPT RPTED THE B-727 IN SIGHT AND REQUESTED A L 360. CTLR APPROVED THE REQUEST. THE B-727 PLT LATER ADVISED THAT HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR A TCASII RA HE WOULD HAVE HIT THE CESSNA. THE ACFT PASSED 300 FT.
